The number of hit-and-run accidents has increased again in Austria – and most of them occurred in Vienna. According to a recent analysis by the ÖAMTC accident research, based on data from Statistics Austria, there were 2,594 accidents with personal injury in 2024, in which 2,650 people unlawfully left the scene of the accident. In the process, 2,923 people were injured, seven died.
